I first started seeing Samy around 3 months back i had ongoing dizziness for over 2 years. The doctors thought it was pots or anxiety after a lot of tests ans getting nowhere i found Samy. When I first saw him he advised I have pppd and vestibular migraine. He explained why this has happened to me and a plan going forward. Now 3 months on ive improved to around 80% which means a can get more or less back to a normal life. Before seeing Samy I was ready to basically give up on life with my job etc. Now I'm back to full time work ans able to manage most flare ups. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Samy his been fantastic throughout.

Sammy truly is an expert in his specialist field!

I am also a Physiotherapist and first "crossed paths" with Sammy when my Dad was suffering with symptoms of dizziness. I lived away from my family in Cornwall at the time but my dad was able to make an appointment with Sammy who successfully diagnosed and managed his BPPV.

Several years ago, I personally had symptoms of dizziness and feeling unbalanced that I could not work out the pattern of, the symptoms didn't fit with vestibular symptoms that I was aware of in my own Physio experience, but I knew of a clinician that would! I had just moved to Aberdeenshire, I was able to contact Sammy and booked an online appointment where he was able to take my history and assess my symptoms. I had been having vestibular migraines - something I had not heard of before. With the diagnosis made, Sammy then over several follow-up sessions provided me with the advice and rehab that has meant that I have been symptom free for the past 18 months.

When I found out that my uncle's partner had been suffering with dizziness, I knew I could confidently recommend Sammy as the clinician to help!

So, almost a week after my follow up appointment with Samy, here is my review of Dizzy Care Clinic.
On Wednesday 19th March out of the blue I had my first bout of horrendous room-spin – caused by me bending down and looking up to the left to see if my grill was lit. I had absolutely no idea what it was – and to be honest, I thought I may be having a stroke. I rang 111 and they sent an ambulance. The lads were helpful and took me up to A&E after checking my heart and blood pressure. The doctor at A&E said I was suffering an attack of vertigo ( I thought it was a fear of heights!). He gave me some medication which made me feel totally spaced out. I called the GP and they changed my medication to Betahistine which I was told I could only be on for a short time. The general dizziness persisted and I had another episode of room-spin turning over in bed from my left to my right side. Sitting still and not moving my head and trying to sleep propped up was really not an option for me moving forward. I did a bit of research. Realised I had 3 options, 1. Hope the problem would resolve itself – possibly months 2. Wait for a referral via NHS – probably months. 3. Find a Vestibular Therapist (never heard of it!). Based on reviews I booked an appointment with Samy for 29 March.
At my appointment Samy was extremely professional and understanding. He diagnosed me with BPPV in 2 channels of my right ear. He treated me and on re-testing the crystals seemed to be back in place. I felt immediately different. We booked a follow up appointment for the 5th March.
To be honest I felt really unbalanced, and dizzy on the Sunday and again on the Tuesday when I was back in front of my computer all day. Apart from those days I started to feel an improvement. Samy did explain there can be some ongoing dizziness for a while.
At my follow up appointment Samy re-tested me for BPPV and confirmed the crystals had remained in place. He gave me some balance exercises to do at home – who knew I couldn’t stand on one leg!
I have continued to improved although I do still sometimes feel slightly dizzy and light headed, I am hoping this will improve over time.
I quite often travel alone – sometimes abroad and that was a worry for me as I know this type of vertigo can recur. Samy explained he does video consultations and could help me that way. I would have no hesitation in recommending Samy and Dizzy Care Clinic. If I have another episode I will be contacting Samy straight away – from wherever I am in the world!
